Chhatrapati Shivaji’s Birth Anniversary Celebrated Across India

Jaipur, India – Today marks the 394th birth anniversary of Rajadhiraj Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of Hind Swaraj. The day was celebrated with great fervor across the nation, with leaders and citizens alike paying tribute to the revered Maratha king.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma joined the nation in paying homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji. However, details of his tribute are not available at the moment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid his tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In a post on social media, the PM shared a video with a graphic display of Shivaji Maharaj, along with a narration by the PM himself which delves into the renowned Maratha king’s cultural history and importance.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the Maratha ruler in India’s Swaraj movement, ending hundreds of years of slavery and invasions. He said, “During these difficult times, Shivaji Maharaj rallied for the nation’s broken spirit and fought for its people, bringing about a stir in the country’s national spirit which ultimately led to Independence.”

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde offered floral tributes to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Chembur, Mumbai. He also performed the bhumi pujan for the beautification of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj circle and statue.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a 17th-century Indian warrior king who founded the Maratha Empire. He is considered to be one of the greatest warriors in Indian history. His birth anniversary, also known as Shiv Jayanti, is commemorated every year on February 19.

The day holds immense significance not only in Maharashtra but across India, as Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy continues to inspire generations with his valor, leadership, and commitment to justice.
