CM’s initiatives to boost power generation and reduce costs in Rajasthan

Date:

Rajasthan is set to enjoy cheaper electricity soon, as the state government has taken several measures to increase the power generation and reduce the dependence on costly power exchange. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has been working closely with the Central Government and Coal India Company to secure additional coal allocation and set up solar power plants in the state.

According to sources, Rajasthan will get cheap electricity of 2500 to 3000 MW capacity, which will meet the growing demand of the state. The state has thermal power plants of 7580 MW capacity, but due to coal shortage, they are operating at only 65 percent of their potential. The CM has requested the Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi to provide more coal to Rajasthan, so that the thermal power plants can run at full capacity.

The state government has also initiated the process of setting up solar power plants in Rajasthan, which has abundant solar energy potential. The CM has sought the cooperation of the Central Government and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to expedite the solar power projects. The state aims to generate 3000 MW of solar power by 2025, which will not only provide cheap and clean electricity, but also create employment opportunities and boost the economy.

The CM has expressed his confidence that the cheap electricity will benefit the people of Rajasthan, especially the farmers, industries, and households. He has also thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi for their support and guidance. He has assured that his government will continue to work for the welfare and development of the state.
