Political Shakeup in Rajasthan: Former Congress MLA and RLP Leader Join BJP

Date:

JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN – In a significant political development, former Congress MLA Ramlal Meghwal and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) leader Vikram Singh Gurjar have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan.

The induction ceremony took place on Monday and was graced by the presence of Arun Chaturvedi, the BJP’s former state unit president, and Jogeshwar Garg, its chief whip in the assembly. The joining of Meghwal and Gurjar is seen as a major boost for the BJP ahead of the upcoming local body elections in the state.

Ramlal Meghwal, a seasoned politician and former Congress MLA from Jalore, brings with him a wealth of experience and a strong support base. On the other hand, Vikram Singh Gurjar, who had contested the 2023 assembly elections from Deoli-Uniara on an RLP ticket, is known for his grassroots connect and popularity among the youth.

The BJP, in a statement, confirmed that Meghwal, Gurjar, and others took membership of the party. The party believes that their joining will further strengthen the BJP’s position in Rajasthan.

The move has sent ripples across the political corridors of Rajasthan, with experts predicting a tough fight in the upcoming elections. As the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how this development will impact the electoral dynamics in the state.
