Adani Green Energy Commissions 180-MW Solar Power Plant in Rajasthan

Date:

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), India’s largest renewable energy company, announced on Wednesday the operationalization of a 180-MW solar power plant at Devikot in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

The plant, which has a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), is a significant addition to AGEL’s operational solar portfolio. With the successful commissioning of this plant, AGEL’s operational solar capacity has increased to 6,243 MW, and the total operational renewable generation capacity to 9,784 MW, making it the largest in India.

The 180-MW solar plant is expected to produce approximately 540 million electricity units annually, enough to power over 1.1 lakh homes. This will significantly contribute to reducing around 0.39 million tonnes of CO2 emissions, marking a substantial step towards a sustainable future.

The plant has deployed next-generation bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis solar trackers (HSAT). These advanced technologies are designed to maximise generation by improving the efficiency of modules and tracking the sun throughout the day.

This development underscores AGEL’s commitment to expanding India’s renewable energy capacity and reducing the country’s carbon footprint. The company continues to play a pivotal role in India’s transition to a cleaner energy future.
