Palace on Wheels Arrives in Jaisalmer, Marking Start of Tourist Season

The enchanting golden city of Jaisalmer welcomed the iconic “Palace on Wheels” today as it embarked on its first journey of the season. This luxury train, often referred to as a ‘palace on wheels,’ has become a symbol of opulence and cultural heritage, attracting tourists from around the globe.

As the train arrived at Jaisalmer Railway Station, it brought with it 31 eager travelers, including 19 international guests and 12 Indian tourists. The Rajasthan Tourism Department and the Jaisalmer Guide Association organized a grand welcome for the visitors, celebrating their arrival in traditional Rajasthani style.

Tourists were greeted with vibrant Rajasthani folk music, lively drum performances, and traditional rituals that included applying tilak and garlanding. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy as travelers expressed their delight at this unique welcome.

Throughout the day, guests will explore the rich cultural heritage and iconic landmarks of Jaisalmer, including the stunning Jaisalmer Fort and the intricate havelis that define the city’s architecture. In the evening, tourists are set to experience the magic of a camel safari, savor authentic Rajasthani cuisine, and enjoy mesmerizing folk music and dance on the serene dunes of Sam.

After their memorable visit to Jaisalmer, the Palace on Wheels will continue its journey, taking passengers through the scenic landscapes of Jodhpur, Bharatpur, and Agra, before concluding their royal experience in Delhi.

With its lavish amenities and cultural immersion, the Palace on Wheels continues to be a sought-after experience for those looking to explore the heritage of Rajasthan in style. As the tourist season begins, the arrival of this royal train marks a significant boost to the local tourism industry, highlighting Jaisalmer’s prominence on the world tourism map.
