Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Inspects Jodhpur Station Redevelopment, Highlights PM Modi’s Vision for Modern Rail Infrastructure

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today visited Jodhpur to review the ongoing reconstruction of the city’s iconic railway station, emphasizing the Modi government’s commitment to transforming India’s railway infrastructure while preserving local heritage.

“PM Modi has got very big tasks for the long-term development of the country, and railway work is also one of them,” Vaishnaw stated during the inspection. “You are seeing how the railways are developing all over India and especially in Rajasthan.”

He highlighted that the redevelopment of Jodhpur Railway Station is being carried out with special attention to architectural preservation. “Look at the Jodhpur station—while maintaining the architectural heritage of this place, a world-class railway station is being made,” he said, pointing to the integration of modern amenities with traditional design elements.

The upgraded station is part of a broader national initiative under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, aimed at enhancing passenger experience, boosting regional connectivity, and creating transport hubs aligned with future needs.
