Rajasthan Launches RTE Admissions 2026–27: 25% Seats Reserved for EWS Children.

Date:

Jaipur, February 20, 2026: The Government of Rajasthan has kicked off the admission process under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act for the 2026–27 academic session, reserving 25% of seats in private schools for children from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups.
Online Application Window Open
Parents can now apply online for entry-level classes including Nursery, LKG, UKG, and Class I, depending on the school. Admissions will be processed through a fully online system to ensure transparency. If applications exceed available seats, a computerised lottery will determine final allotments, which will be published on the official RTE portal.
Eligibility & Required Documents
To qualify under the EWS category, applicants must meet income criteria set by the state government. Required documents include:
• Child’s birth certificate
• Income certificate
• Residence proof
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Aadhaar details (if available)
Officials have urged parents to submit accurate information to avoid rejection during verification.
Aim of the Initiative:
Under Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act, private unaided schools must reserve 25% of entry-level seats for underprivileged children, with the government reimbursing schools as per norms. The initiative aims to promote inclusive education and provide children from low-income families access to quality schooling without financial barriers.
Key Highlights:
• 25% seats reserved in private schools under RTE
• Online applications: 20 February – 4 March 2026
• Admission through transparent lottery system
• Applicable for entry-level classes only
• Government reimbursement for participating schools
Advice for Parents:
The Rajasthan government urges parents to carefully follow portal guidelines, submit correct documents, and adhere to deadlines. This initiative reinforces the right to education while supporting inclusive development across the state
