PM Modi Addresses Rally in Aligarh, Criticizes Opposition for Appeasement Politics

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a public rally in Aligarh, launched a scathing attack on opposition parties like the Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing them of indulging in appeasement politics.

The Prime Minister claimed that these parties have never contributed to the political, social, and economic upliftment of Muslims. He specifically mentioned the plight of Pasmanda Muslims, a socially and economically backward group within the Muslim community.

“When I discuss the plight of Pasmanda Muslims, their hair stands on end because the upper-class people have enjoyed the cream and they have forced the Pasmanda Muslims to live in the same condition,” said PM Modi.

He also brought up the controversial issue of triple talaq, a practice that allows Muslim men to divorce their wives instantly by uttering ‘talaq’ three times. The Prime Minister said that many women in the area had their lives ruined due to this practice.

“Not only the daughters, but due to triple talaq, the daughter, her father, brother, and family all got troubled,” he added.

PM Modi highlighted that his government has taken steps to secure the lives of these women by enacting a law against triple talaq. This move has been seen as a significant step towards gender justice and equality.

The Prime Minister’s comments come at a time when political temperatures are soaring in Uttar Pradesh, with parties gearing up for the upcoming elections. His remarks are likely to spark a fresh round of political debates in the state.
