Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat Highlights Religious Tourism and Development of Karni Mata Mandir

Date:

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat emphasized the importance of religious tourism and the government’s commitment to improving pilgrimage sites under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PRASAD scheme.

Speaking on the Karni Mata Mandir development project, Shekhawat stated that the Rajasthan government’s proposal to enhance visitor experience at the temple has been approved.

“Realizing the importance of religious tourism, PM Narendra Modi implemented the PRASAD scheme to develop tourist spots across India. Karni Mata Mandir is a matter of faith for many people, including me. The project proposed by the Rajasthan government to improve the experience of temple visitors has been approved,” Shekhawat said.

The Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme, launched by the Union Ministry of Tourism, aims to develop and modernize important pilgrimage destinations by improving infrastructure, amenities, and accessibility.

Karni Mata Mandir, located in Deshnoke, Rajasthan, is a significant religious site known for its unique devotion to Karni Mata and its large population of revered rats. The temple attracts thousands of devotees and tourists annually, making it a key site for religious and cultural tourism.

The approved project is expected to bring better facilities, enhanced security, and improved accessibility to the temple, benefiting both pilgrims and visitors. The move is seen as part of the broader initiative to boost tourism in Rajasthan and across India by focusing on spiritual heritage and religious faith.
