Ambedkar E-Libraries Initiative in Rajasthan: 200 Centres Planned, ₹1,363 Crore Disbursed

Jaipur, April 2026: The Rajasthan Government has announced a major push towards education and social welfare, with plans to establish 200 Ambedkar E-Libraries across the state and the transfer of ₹1,363 crore directly to beneficiaries under various welfare schemes.


200 Ambedkar E-Libraries to Boost Digital Learning

The proposed Ambedkar E-Libraries aim to enhance access to education and digital resources, particularly for students in rural and underserved areas.

Key features of the initiative include:

  • Digital learning infrastructure with computers and internet access
  • Availability of academic and competitive exam resources
  • Reading spaces for students and youth

The move is expected to promote digital literacy, inclusive education, and skill development, especially among economically weaker sections.


₹1,363 Crore Transferred Under Welfare Schemes

Alongside the education initiative, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma transferred ₹1,363 crore directly into the accounts of beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The funds were distributed under multiple welfare schemes aimed at:

  • Supporting women, farmers, and economically weaker sections
  • Enhancing financial inclusion and transparency
  • Ensuring timely delivery of government benefits

Focus on Inclusive Growth and Empowerment

The state government said the twin initiatives reflect its commitment to:

  • Strengthening education infrastructure
  • Promoting social justice and empowerment
  • Expanding access to digital resources and welfare benefits

The Ambedkar E-Libraries, named after Dr B. R. Ambedkar, are envisioned as hubs of knowledge and opportunity, aligning with the broader goal of inclusive and equitable development.
