Rajasthan: Minister Jogaram talks to media about the budget

Date:

Rajasthan’s Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Law and Legal Affairs, Jogaram Patel, interacted with the media on Thursday, ahead of the presentation of the interim budget by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. He expressed his low expectations from the budget and accused the central government of neglecting the state’s development and welfare.

“We have little hope that they will make some plans for Rajasthan, because they don’t want to take votes in the name of development. They don’t want to talk about the issues they promised to address when they came to power in 2014. Rajasthan’s people have given them 25 out of 25 seats twice. But despite this, the state’s people have not received any special package for water, or for other works like railways. We have no expectations from them. They only want to do politics on the basis of religion and misuse the constitutional institutions. But now the people have understood their every strategy,” Patel said.

He also criticized the President’s address to the joint session of both houses of Parliament on Wednesday, saying that it did not mention the problems of inflation, unemployment, farmers’ income, and Manipur. He said that the Congress party would raise these issues in the budget session and demand answers from the government.

Patel was in Jodhpur for a two-day visit to attend various official and party programs. He also held a public hearing and listened to the grievances of the people. He assured them of speedy redressal and said that the state government was committed to fulfilling the promises made in the manifesto.
