Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport Foundation Stone to Be Laid on March 7, ₹4,600 Crore Water & Irrigation Projects Also to Begin

Kota, Rajasthan: March 7 is set to be a significant day for infrastructure development in Rajasthan, as the foundation stone for the Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport will be laid along with water supply and irrigation projects worth ₹4,600 crore. Administrative and political preparations for the mega event are in full swing.

Preparations Reviewed Ahead of Mega Event

Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar chaired a review meeting with officials on Sunday to assess arrangements related to the foundation ceremony. Discussions focused on stage setup, security measures, traffic management, and public convenience.

Separate meetings were also held by the BJP’s city and rural units to coordinate participation and organizational planning. Kota South MLA Sandeep Sharma, City District President Rakesh Jain, Rural President Prem Gochar, and other party officials attended the discussions.

Boost to Regional Air Connectivity

The foundation ceremony will be attended by Om Birla, Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu.

During the event, the Kota-Bundi Greenfield Airport project will be formally launched. The airport is expected to significantly enhance air connectivity for Kota and neighboring districts, supporting regional economic growth, tourism, and investment opportunities.

₹4,600 Crore Water and Irrigation Projects

Alongside the airport project, major water and irrigation schemes worth ₹4,600 crore will also be inaugurated.

  • ₹1,100 crore Naunera Project under the Jal Jeevan Mission
  • ₹3,500 crore Parvan Irrigation Project

These initiatives aim to strengthen drinking water supply systems and provide relief to farmers through improved irrigation infrastructure.

A video message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be broadcast during the ceremony.

Major Development Push for Kota Region

Kota South MLA Sandeep Sharma stated that continuous development initiatives by the central and state governments are transforming the region. BJP City President Rakesh Jain highlighted that efforts by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla played a key role in resolving hurdles related to the airport project.

The March 7 event is being seen as a landmark moment for Kota and surrounding districts, marking a major step toward infrastructure expansion, improved connectivity, and sustainable regional development in Rajasthan.
